Kitchen Bones

Lisa Eggleston is a photographer based in Pittsburgh PA.

I attempted to make lemon candy this weekend, but it went terribly wrong. I made it three times, and never had a success.
The recipes is basically sugar and lemon essence. The tricky part is getting the sugar to reach the hard crack stage without burning. I’m not much of a candy maker so when I made it, the candy kept burning before I could get it to reach 300F.
The few candies I did manage to get rolled and cut were very cute (although, burned). I’ll try again some other weekend, one where baking doesn’t seem to be such a burden.
I found the recipe and a nice story on this blog by Pigamitha Dimar.
