I had gotten used to my usual stops in Rochester. Wegmans had my baking needs, the co-op had my special treats, and the Owl House was my regular grilled cheese stop and hang out when there was a special occasion. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It didn&amp;#8217;t actually take too much effort to find my new outlets. Giant Eagle has a respectable gluten free aisle, and I can even find pasta in Target and Kuhn&amp;#8217;s. Then, of course, there&amp;#8217;s &lt;a href="https://www.gluuteny.com/" title="Gluuteny"&gt;Gluuteny&lt;/a&gt; with their fresh cakes and cookies (I worked there long hours everyday, and I still have endless cravings for those snickerdoodles). &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It was a little bit before I found the &lt;a href="http://www.yourglutenfreehealth.com/" title="Gluten Free Zone"&gt;Gluten Free Zone&lt;/a&gt;. It was just on a drive home that I spotted their sign outside their store. I was drawn in by their green logo and immediately knew what &amp;#8220;GF&amp;#8221; meant. How exciting! A new, safe place to explore. I didn&amp;#8217;t really know what to expect. Was it a bakery with a few select items? Did it just have boxed cereals and pastas like I&amp;#8217;ve seen in the organic section of groceries stores?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I was really stunned when I finally walked in. It&amp;#8217;s a small store, but still so much bigger than I anticipated. And walls just covered in cakes mixes, flours, pastas, crackers, chips, sauces, protein bars, breads, chips, pretzels, waffles, pizzas, pies&amp;#8230;!! I&amp;#8217;m talking packed! I&amp;#8217;ve been there a few times now and I still am surprised at what I find. My last trip I even picked up ramen and soba noodles! They carry products I hadn&amp;#8217;t even considered eating again. And best of all, they have a bakery and a lunch menu.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;My hope is that, with this new excitement, I shoot and blog more. I am very happy with everything I have bought there, and I am to eager to try more. I am slowly reintroducing foods back into my regular diet, instead of cutting them out and forgetting they existed.&lt;/p&gt;

With some encouragement, I have found that I need to start making more detailed plans for my photographs, otherwise I just try to throw things together as ideas come to my head.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It has been a big help, although I still feel like I haven&amp;#8217;t quite gotten in a comfortable position with my shooting since moving. I shouldn&amp;#8217;t blame the move too much though. I think I&amp;#8217;m just a little rusty from not having shot in a while. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;So anyway, this is an earl grey infused creme brulee. Basically, you steep earl grey tea in the hot heavy cream for your creme brulee and it gives you a nice, light, tea cream. The earl grey can be quite bitter (but I think I steeped mine too long) but with enough caramelized sugar on top, it brings it to a nice balance. Someone very sweet that I know bought me a kitchen torch just for this project (and more to come).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The macarons are also earl grey flavored&amp;#8230;! :]&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m not completely happy with my shots, but I never am. But, I&amp;#8217;m glad I took the time to do it, and really try. Now I have some direction for what I need to improve on and study.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This afternoon I mixed up a batch of my mom&amp;#8217;s peanut butter candy. &lt;/p&gt;

I made it three times, and never had a success. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The recipes is basically sugar and lemon essence. The tricky part is getting the sugar to reach the hard crack stage without burning. I’m not much of a candy maker so when I made it, the candy kept burning before I could get it to reach 300F. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The few candies I did manage to get rolled and cut were very cute (although, burned). I’ll try again some other weekend, one where baking doesn’t seem to be such a burden.&lt;/p&gt;
